Brookside Inn and Retreat Center:
The heart of Brookside, its historic presence and rustic elegance, are enhanced by tasteful furnishings and comfortable surroundings making your stay at Brookside memorable. Originally part of a 19th Century resort complex, Brookside is a unique early Arts and Crafts, shingle-style building and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The first floor great room features old growth chestnut and oak wainscoting and a coffered ceiling. A wood stove takes the chill off the cool mountain evenings and a grand front porch wraps the house. The second floor also features a great room and is surrounded by the guest rooms. All rooms have private baths. One guest room has both a twin and a double bed and a second has a king bed that converts to twin beds; the other two rooms have double beds.
Meals at Brookside are unrushed, simple yet distinctive and created with local, organic produce. The menus are seasonal and planned daily. All accommodations include a full breakfast. A private dinner can be arranged for a group of 6 or more with advance reservations. With notice, we can accommodate specific dietary needs.
For your convenience and enjoyment, a small, full service bistro is available on site. Open from 4 to midnight Thursday through Saturday and 4 to 9 on Sunday, light dinners are served as well as a full range of beverages. |
